This 7×14” custom true solid Mango snare drum shell is very unique as it is carved from a single solid log of highly figured Indonesian Mango. This drum is not made of an individual board that has been steam bent or multiple thin plies or 20 individual staves…this is literally a piece of wood that existed as a tree that has been put on a massive lathe and slowly carved into a cylindrical shape. This is an EXTREMEMLY expensive process and only 4 or 5 builders build ture solid snare drum shells. This drum is a collaboration piece… the shell comes in a raw form from Y&T Drums in Indonesia, and I add 8 coats of pricey, glossy, durable-as-hell 2k polyester clear coat. This drum has dual abalone inlays. Bearing edges are dual offset 45 degrees or roundover 30 degrees, upon your preference. This custom snare drum has a huge tuning range and is a beautiful example of figured solid Mango
