True Solid Shell Drums

A true solid shell is hollowed from one single block of wood, so the finished drum has no joint anywhere in it. The shell behaves as one piece, which gives these drums an immediate attack and a clear, defined note.

Finding wood thick, dry and stable enough to turn into a solid shell is the hard part, which is why these are the rarest drums in the shop. These shells are shipped from a craftsman in Indonesia.  Each one is finished and assembled in New Orleans by Seven Six Drum Company and ships anywhere in the world.
