The Bubinga Super Piccolo Custom Snare Drum
This 4.5x14” Seven Six Drum Company custom handcrafted Super Piccolo snare drum is built from 100% Bubinga wood staves. Bubinga is an exotic hardwood from Africa. It is almost 3 times harder than soft maple, which translates to a bright, powerful crack, and this particular piece has some gorgeous featuring. Let’s talk about those HOOPS! These are a pair of Bubinga and Curly Maple hoops with a Curly Maple inlay. As for the finish, I topped it off with 15 coats of high gloss, super durable 2K polyester clear coat and a hand rubbed satin oil finish was applied to the hoops.
This drum has:
offset roundover to 45 degree bearing edges.
a 0.66” thick stave shell
single point black nickel lugs and tension rods
hand rubbed oil finished Bubinga and Curly Maple hoops
PureSound Custom Pro 24 strand snare wires with cotter pins, allowing removal of bottom head without removing snare contact/placement strips
Black nickel piccolo throw off and butt plate
Matching air vent grommet
Remo CS Reverse White Dot and Ambassador heads.
