This 7x14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from Central American Padauk and Louisiana Cypress. Padauk has a hardness similar to hard maple, but has a much more complex grain structure and appearance and Cypress is a softer wood. I topped it off with a crystal clear, glossy, glassy, pricey, pretty, durable polyester clear coat. This custom snare drum snaps, crackles, and pops, and is a gorgeous addition to any drum kit. This drum has:
offset roundover/30 degree bearing edges.
a 0.55” thick stave shell
handmade brass lugs with an Antique Brass finish and center point brass shavings inlaid in resin from W Odd Drums in Serbia
brass triple flanged hoops and tension rods
carbon steel 25 strand snare wires
