The Red "J"iant Jatoba

$1,100.00

This 8x14 custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Brazilian Cherry (aka Jatoba) wood staves. Jatoba is a super dense hard wood - about twice as hard as maple. This hard, thick exotic wood shell translates to extra volume when you really hit this drum.

As for the finish, I first applied 3 separate coats of black dye and sanded each off to really make the grain pop, then I added bright red dye and topped is off with high gloss, super durable polyester clear coat. This drum has:

  • offset 45 degree bearing edges.

  • a 0.60” thick stave shell

  • dual point low mass black nickel lugs

  • black nickel triple flanged hoops and tension rods

  • Puresound Custom Pro brass 24 strand snare wires

  • DW Mag black nickel throw off and butt plate

  • Matching air vent grommet

  • Remo heads.

**This drum was custom built for a customer, but I can build you one just like it or adjust the specs to your liking.
