The Store / Unique Domestic Wood Custom Snare Drums
The Red Cypress
$1,075.00
This 6.75x14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Louisiana Cypress wood staves. Cypress is a unique wood for building snare drums, and this particular piece has some gorgeous grain structure. Expect a very versatile drum that has a nice dry crack but can also be tuned to become warmer and fatter. As for the finish, my client wanted this snare to match is orangish-red Ludwig drum kit. I topped it off with 10 coats of high gloss, super durable 2K polyester clear coat and applied a hand rubbed oil finish to the maple hoops.
This drum has:
offset 45 degree bearing edges.
bowtie chrome lugs and tension rods
diecast chrome hoops
Purseound Super 30 strand snare wires
Ludwig throw off and butt plate
Matching air vent grommet
Aquarian heads.
