This 6×14” custom snare drum is built from solid staves of highly figured Walnut. Walnut is a domestic hardwood and this particular piece had so much cool figuring, including some sexy blonde streaks. What you see on the exterior is the same wood you’ll see on the interior - it’s not a veneer - that’s solid stave shell construction. This drum has 8 coats of hand-rubbed oil semi gloss clearcoat and roundover to 45 degree bearing edges. This custom snare drum has a huge tuning range and is a beautiful example of figured domestic wood.
