Here’s 20 pounds of sweet cast bronze goodness. This drum is particularly unique because, unlike many cast bronze/bell brass shells that are cast from B12 or B8 bronze, this one is cast from B20 bronze, the same type of bronze used in the highest end Zildjian and Sabian Cymbals. It costs more, but I think you’ll agree that it’s worth it. Also making it unique is that it has 8 lugs instead of 10.
This is an 6.5x14 B20 cast bronze 3mm shell with sharp 45 degree bearing edges. It has:
B20 cast bronze hoops brass lugs that were custom made for this drum in Canada
brass tension rods
a 24K gold plated Trick Drums throw and butt plate
a 25 strand set of German-style snare wires
Remo Ambassador batter head and snare side head.
As you can imagine, this thing is a beast. It’s super sensitive and can be played in low volume situations, but its forte is cutting through and being heard…rings like a bell if you want it to, or it can be tamed…maybe.
