This 6.5×14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% solid Curly Purpleheart wood staves. Purpleheart is an exotic hardwood that has a gorgeous tone with sensitivity and attack.
As for the finish, I applied 8 coats of super durable 2K polyester gloss clear coat. This drum has:
dual offset 45 degree bearing edges.
a 0.65” thick stave shell
black nickel single point lugs
black nickel diecast hoops and tension rods
24 strand Sonor snare wires
Black Trick throw off and butt plate
Matching air vent grommet
Evans heads.
