The Monkeypod Solid Stave Custom Snare Drum
$1,195.00
This 6.75x14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 0.85” inch thick Monkeypod staves. Yes, you read that correctly…MONKEYPOD. This is one of the most exotic woods I’ve worked with and it comes from Central and South America. It’s a bit softer than maple and is named for the spiral-shaped fruit pods which the tree bears. I finished it with 7 coats of hand-rubbed oil. This custom snare drum has a huge tuning range and is a beautiful example of this rare wood.
This handcrafted custom snare drum has
Chrome stick saver hoops
Ultra low mass single point lugs and chrome tension rods
20 strand snare wires
A chrome plated INde throw off and butt plate
Aquarian and Evans
****** This particular drum was custom built for noted drum collector, Larry Moore, but I can build one just like it or customize it to your liking in just 4-6 weeks
