Striped Jatoba and Purpleheart II - The Return of Goober
This 7x13 purpleheart and jatoba stave snare’s shell is about 3/5” thick. I topped it off with 9 coats of crystal clear, glossy, glassy, pricey, pretty, durable polyester clear coat. When I built the first version of this drum, someone told me it reminded him of the Smucker’s “Goober” product, peanut butter and jelly together in one jar, with a striped-effect, so….
This custom snare drum has:
chrome die-cast hoops and tension rods
chrome low mass lugs
Puresound Twisted snare wires
a DW chrome throw off and FIVE POSITION butt plate
Remo heads.
As usual with a stave drum this size, it has a fantastic crack and looks sexy, too.
