Ambrosia Maple Steam Bent Solid Shell Gong Bass Drum

This 18×14 Gong Bass drum is a collaboration between a client of mine who owns two Seven Six Drum Co snares, Cask Drumcraft, and Seven Six Drum Co. Dustin wanted a steam bent shell gong bass drum that that aesthetically matched one of his drum kits, so I hired Cask to build the shell. Dustin chose the lugs and asked for a finish that matched his current kit, so I did 6 coats of hand-rubbed semi-gloss oil. We did a dual 45 degree bearing edge with a roundover on the bottom. I spent a while getting the spacing engineering right on the lugs, and we used a 20 inch Pinstripe tom head on this 18 shell.
