The Black Limba III
This 7x14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Black Limba wood staves. Black Limba is a very hard exotic wood from Africa. It can have super interesting figuring and grain patterns, as well as unique rustic features like wormholes. On this shell, most of the smaller worm holes were filled in but some of the larger worm holes were left open to show off the natural feel of the wood.
This custom snare drum has a semi gloss super durable polyurethane clear coat and:
roudover to 45 degree batter side bearing edge and 45/45 degree offset reso side bearing edge.
a 0.55” thick stave shell
black powdercoated lugs, custom built for Seven Six Drum Co in Canada
Black nickel die cast hoops and tension rods
Puresound Custom pro 24 strand snare wires
DW Black Nickel Mag throw off and 5-position butt plate
Matching air vent grommet
