Vintage Hickory and African Mahogany II

$649.00

Currently our lowest retail priced snare custom snare drum, this is a 7x14 African Mahogany and Hickory stave snare drum. It has a very thin shell at 1/4” thick. Like many of the vintage drums from the 1950s and 1960s, it has roundover to 30 degree bearing edges to maximize the contact between the head and shell, thereby increasing the influence of the thin shell, with its intrinsic low fundamental note, on the overall sound. It has polished aluminum dual point low mass lugs and chrome tension rods, black nickel 3mm triple flanged hoops, a chrome Gibraltar throw off, Puresound Custom Pro brass 24 strand snare wires, and Remo heads. Continuing with its vintage theme, It’s finished in 6 coats of incredibly durable gloss Liberon finishing oil on the exterior and 3 coats on the interior of the shell

The thin shell combined with the rounded bearing edges give this drum a great big fat tonality that can also be tuned up for a big crack.

THIS DRUM IS SOLD, BUT I CAN BUILD ANOTHER JUST LIKE IT OR CUSTOMIZE IT TO YOUR LIKING
